Bella Poarch
Bella Poarch, born on 9 February 1997 in the Philippines to Filipino biological parents. Her adoption took place when she was three by her maternal grandmother living in slums. Her adoptive father is white American with a military background, and her mother who adopted her is Filipino. She says she and her adopted brother were abused from when they were children up until the time she enlisted. Following a brief time within San Francisco, her family relocated to Texas to help her father undergo bypass surgery. Physical abuse stopped in the end, however the father continued to psychologically abuse her at home. At the age of 18 she joined an organization called the United States Navy. Poarch began her TikTok account in April of 202020 and rose quickly to fame, amassing over 40 million followers within less than eight months. The account was home to a variety of videos. But her most enduring success was a music video for Millie B's popular song Soph Aspin Send. A zoomed-in clip of her synchronized lip-syncing to the tune and jumping around into the song became a viral clip that was the top TikTok video. As soon as she became a member of TikTok and began to gain fame, Poarch started up a YouTube channel, as well as a Twitter account. Poarch's burgeoning fame peaked during the month of December.
